On Tuesday 24 November we welcomed West London's finest independent boutique shopping brands under one roof, for an old fashioned Christmas Fayre and over 900 of you turned up to Christmas shop in style!

The Reverend Derath Durkin rounded things up nicely, when she says that “it was so fabulous to see Church and Hall humming with throngs of people from both our community and the church sharing a good experience for all the family. It was good to see so many people having an enjoyable time. It was an amazing opportunity to work with local businesses and to see the church open to all our local community.

Lionel Road Choir opened the evening's music programme, followed by Christchurch, Elthorne Park, St. Faith's Choir and finally closing with Questors Choir.

What made this different was that many traders will be demonstrating their craft on site too, from the drama of Christmas poultry prepartion from John Richardson's team from Richardson's to on the spot manicures and hair styling, from the girls of Kempson & Beck's hair & beauty salon.

The Lord Nelson pub were busy all evening, serving up hot mulled wine an London Pride, alongside their highly popular roast turkey dinners on skewers, devilled whitebait, Salt & Pepper Squid, Hot & Spicy Chicken Wings and their hand cut chips

And Saffron's Sunday School team had parents and children kept busy by decorating a large mosic star.

And what did our businesses hae to say about it?

Mary Darch & Helen Duff of Darch & Duff said “A lovely atmospheric evening, in wonderful architectural surroundings. Darch & Duff have been part of the local trading community for 11 years and we enjoyed seeing everyone coming together in the spirit of Christmas”.

John Richardson says “it was great to be part of a well organised and happy community event. We found people were very interested in the level of skill and dexterity involved in traditional butchery, which we were delighted to show off from 60 years of great butchery under the Richardson ’s brand”.

Louise Coultas-Pitman of the Cracked Pot said “what a fabulous way to kick off the festive trading season. With 14 years on the high street and a year successfully on the web too, it was good opportunity to greet so many existing and new customers, as well as showcasing our creativity in our new Christmas lines”.

Publican Lee Bartlett says” it was a great opportunity to meet regulars and new customers alike, and promote and launch our winter menu devised by our Head Chef Daniel Collier”

Peter Hughes, President of Brentford Chamber of Commerce said “it was encouraging to see so many local businesses from both our high streets and the growing number if internet based businesses coming together under one roof to boost the local economy”.
